Internship Opportunity: New Haven Symphony Orchestra – Development Internship

Qualifications:
We are looking for an enterprising, hands-on and creative individual with a flair for development. It is essential that the intern work well independently. This intern will report directly to the Executive Director (an NYU arts admin grad) and assist Board members. S/he should demonstrate maturity, poise, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent writing ability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The NHSO development team raises over $1 million annually. In addition, we are in Year Two of a three-year campaign to fund special projects; over $500,000 in special funding was secured in Year One. The intern will help to propel this campaign forward and maintain relationships with the current funders. Assistance is also needed in grant writing, annual fund development, and donor relations.
This intern will enjoy the rare experience of working with senior staff on a major project that will affect our orchestra’s future. S/he will interact with major donors and local leaders of diverse backgrounds. For a student interested in development this would be an incredibly valuable experience to develop a broad range of skills.
