MARKETING / COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
Centrum, one of Washington’s leading arts organizations and producer of nationally acclaimed workshops and festivals in jazz, acoustic blues, chamber music, traditional fiddle styles and writing seeks a Marketing / Communications Manager to oversee all activities related to the promotion of the organization, its workshops, performances and residency program for artists.
Marketing activities include the creation of catalogs, brochures, and collateral materials as well as overseeing the design and placement of print and electronic media advertising. The communications activities include developing press releases, calendars, contracting photographers, and handling media relations for local, regional, and national press. The position will also be the primary interface between the organization and our contracted web designers and social media providers.
Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree and have 3 to 5 years experience in non-profit marketing, preferably with the arts, and ideally with both marketing and communications duties. Excellent writing skills and speaking skills are essential. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including developing budgets with Excel is important. Experience with Publisher, Illustrator, and other design programs is helpful. A passion for and knowledge of the arts, especially for a wide range of musical styles, is a plus.
