SummerStage 2011 Volunteer Opportunities

Posted on Updated on

Since 1986, we’ve been presenting works of the highest caliber from the worlds of music, dance, theater, film, and spoken word, from some of the world’s most inventive and influential creative artists. And we’ve presented them for free, in the heart of New York City, to eager, ever-growing audiences. This year, we will continue that tradition, providing a showcase for over 100 performances in parks throughout the five boroughs.

An essential part of that tradition is the Central Park SummerStage Volunteer program, made up of dedicated fans of the festival who donate their time and their passion in order to ensure our audiences have a memorable experience. The volunteers assist us at each of our performances by distributing information and directions, assisting in crowd control, and requesting the donations that make these events possible. It’s their enthusiastic efforts that set Central Park SummerStage apart from all other festivals, and they can use your help this year.

You can find our full 2011 schedule (including our events at other parks throughout the city) online at www.summerstage.org take a look, and see which dates you’re available to volunteer. Tell me the dates you’re interested in and we’ll take it from there. And don’t miss the pre-season Orientation Meeting for new volunteers on Friday, May 27; write me for the time and location.
